Collection 5 Visits Korea
With the commitment to have the Collection reach as wide as audience as possible, a push was made during 2000 to have the Collection exhibited overseas. One opportunity came up at the Hanover world expo in the Australian Pavilion, where there was the possibility of having the exhibition in the VIP lounge and images in an Audiovisual installation for the 5 month duration of the expo, giving Australian Photography unprecedented exposure. Unfortunately, the exhibition was too difficult to hang on the membrane walls so the Audiovisual was our only presence.
Searching for other venues, we came up with the opportunity to have the exhibition in Korea with the Korean Advertising Photographers Association. The final result was that during October, a scaled down version of 27 images from Collection 5 was exhibited alongside the Korean Advertising Photographers Association's latest awards exhibition. Exhibited at the the Sejong Cultural Centre in Seoul, this marks the first step in developing cultural exchange with Photography Associations and the second step in raising the international profile of Australian Photography.
Stay tuned, the current objectives are to have Collection Exhibitions in London Tokyo and New York within the next 2 years. Gavin Blue, Chairman, Collection Committee This website copyright 2005 ACMP - PO Box 779 North Sydney NSW 2060 Australia |
