We all seem to have a unique and interesting tales of how we have come be Commercial Photographers and even scarier tales of how we came to be on the ACMP board (but I will leave that to you to experience for yourself). I believe it’s this unique personal journey which reflects in the different ways we do business and most importantly our work. It also gives us the diversity and creativity that we require in order to grow, not just as individual photographers but as an industry as a whole but It’s the ACMP which binds this all together and makes us strong.
Since joining the ACMP (2003) I’ve gotten involved in many great projects:
Other issues that I care passionately about (well passionately enough that I am trying in my small way to effect positive change)
One of the great things about being in an organization like ACMP is that you have the opportunity to meet and work with some of the most talented and creative people in the industry. I don’t mean talented or creative in just the craft (or technical aspects of image making) but to the Profession. I believe it’s understanding this difference that separates the great photographers from the legends. If being an assistant passes on the craft to an emerging photographer then it’s through membership of a professional association like the ACMP which passes on this Profession.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank all you legends out there (you know who you are). You are a source of inspiration not just to me but I’m sure for the growing generation of new photographers that will some day replace us.

BTW I have two children and am also in my third term as President of the Lane Cove Chamber of Commerce. I am a believer that you only "get out" what you “put in” and skeptical of people who tell me that are to busy to be involved – you will need to be a bit more creative than that ;-)
